2000 Deiss Schoenenbourg- Deep golden straw in color, the nose offered up fresh lychee, asian pear, dried apricot and light petrol. The palate offered up black tea and marjoram, and finished off dry, while holding on to it’s classic Deiss acidity.

Josh Bergstrom has done it again
This past weekend I tasted trisaetum Riesling and Pinot Noir. Josh Bergsrom is the wine maker, Willamette Valley, Oregon.
The Riesling was great - wet stone and petrol on the nose, layered with hints of orange blossom, acacia and granny smith apple. The palate was crisp, notes of pineapple and Mandarin orange began to show through after the first few minutes. The finish was the kicker- long and full, leaving one wanting for more. It reminded me of a vibrant Nahe Riesling.
The Pinot Noir immediately drew me in, although slow to open, I found cedar and dry rose petal on the nose as well as bacon fat.The creamy palate offered up flavors of sour cherry, currant. The silky yet firm tannin structure led me to Chambolle- Musigny. I also had enough acidity to stand up to pulled pork or roasted leg of lamb with chimichurri, and would be an interesting pair with Salmon grilled with apple cider and bacon vinaigrette.
Josh has done it again!

Creativity
Alright. I made it this far. March Madness. End of the ski season woes, excited for the next new and big thing. But what. Headed to France in May, hopefully find a reason not to come back (note to self-- Rosetta stone doesnt work sitting on the coffee table.)
